Hi Guillarme, the change seems not to be invasive, but I can't understand which are the benefits... how does changing this library affects libfido2 functionalities?
This allows to build against openssl 3 once Tumbleweed will switch to it by default.
I thing there are no benefits now, but the lifecycle of Leap 15.4 ends after the end of openssl 1.1 support for security fix until September 2023.
Please change it in libfido2-devel too. Requires: libopenssl-1_1-devel
The switch to openssl 3 is being tested in staging project already. So there is a benefit.
Did you test libfido2 with openssl 3? Currently openssl-devel points to version 1.1.1 and will change at some point in the future. I prefer to wait a while before switching to version 3.
This change is to become future proof
currently, openssl default version in Tumbleweed is 1.1.1m; but there is work in progress to move to openSSL 3;
