Overview
15+%define ver 1.2.11 16+Version: %{ver}
Why the indirection?
Otherwise in prep version is 0.01 because of the perl Module. I first used %{version} in %fname, but seems it gets only expanded later.
A better solution welcome. It's ugly, but it works :-)
Ah,. I see, there is a Version: redefined in a sub package.
There is an internal variable %{VERSION} (all caps) that references at all moments to the Version in the Preamble
btwp: prep does not reference version or ver:
%prep %setup -n %{fname} # SPF_debugf macro should always have at least two parameters %patch0 # libreplace is not needed on modern Linux rm -rf src/libreplace %patch1 find . "(" -name Makefile.am -o -name Makefile.in ")" -exec touch {} +
silly me... that is
19+%define fname %{name}-%{ver}-4915c308
indeed; %define is expanded at the time it is used; %global is expanded at the time it is reached in the spec file
Thanks. Fixed the ugly workaround by using %global.
