we have that bug for sometime now:
https://github.com/openSUSE/openSUSEway/issues/33
so that is not an regression, I have opened issue to track it better:
https://github.com/openSUSE/openSUSEway/issues/52
I have updated tuigreet and was able to login with that.
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/928514
I would say lets land it and fix bug with additional SR as it is not a regression.

Haven't had a chance to test, is everything ok with this request?
greetd doesn't work for me (with gtkgreet) for some time now, since version 0.7 for sure, maybe earlier.
I was testing 0.8.0 it didn't change that, but I would like to try other greeters too. One thing that I have noticed is that somehow /var//lib/greetd/ and /var/cache/greetd somehow disappeared, but it doesn't related to this new package.
you could test it, or land it as is, so other would :)
