CAn't you use the meta-package llvm-devel and follow the distro default?
Yes, we discussed this on sr#888404. As long as upstream releases versions tested against the current LLVM relatively quick, I'd rather go with their recommendations for now and choose the "matching" version of LLVM/Clang.
