What about a condition for older distributions? - This would allow to get at least a current maxima version on these...
Doesn't build for old distros anyway, since it seems %make_build isn't defined there. Am I missing something? I could replace this by make %{?_smp_mflags} VERBOSE=1, even though that kind of seems retrograde to me. Suggestions/Comments welcome.

Doesn;'t build even with vanilla make %{?_smp_mflags}. Giving up :/
