hmm. actually, having to mangle with the /usr/lib/debug structure indicates a bug somewhere else in the spec file.

My first guess is an %exclude statement - %exclude should only ever be used to exclude a file from a glob and then catch it in a different sub package. Oterhwise, files to not be packaged better be rm'ed in tghe %install section (or you don't get usable debuginfo packages)
