Update to latest beta plus other adjustments

This has been tested on spyder3, after getting its test suite operational https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/724514
The only other package using python-opengl with test suite even mentioned in the .spec, albeit disabled, was python-pyqtgraph , and it seems it will be a significant effort to get its tests operational, so effort at https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:jayvdb:branches:devel:languages:python/python-pyqtgraph not finished.
