IMHO, Jan is perfectly in the right here. This 'plea for attention' does not belong to the description - and if a user wants to adhere to it or not is irrelevant as to whether he is allowed to use some MIT-Licensed code.

Of course, we value the work of the code authors, but this kind of call for attention and spreading the word is not to be put int he package description (no objections against being in a readme)
