Overview
Replaced kmod-compat dependency with /sbin/depmod. @jengelh: Please understand that we'd rather port this to kmod at a later time. Actually, I don't see a good reason to do that as long as it builds and runs on both current and old distro versions.

+Requires: binutils
Is that really needed? That will require adjustments in installation-images - and is kinda strange runtime dependency
Yes, it's required. weak-modules2 requires /usr/bin/nm. "eu-nm" from elfutils could be used instead, but it's even higher in the dep chain AFAICT. The previous "Requires(post)" was wrong. weak-modules2 is supposed to be run in the %post script of kernel packages, not in the suse-module-tools %post script.
Do you have a better suggestion?
I might add that I'm generally not happy with the dependencies of suse-module-tools. It's quite deep in the dependency chain (required even by kernel-default-base); yet it pulls in binutils (via weak-modules2) and perl (via modsign-verify). In particular the latter is really only necessary for developers. For modsign-verify to work, openssl would actually also be needed as requirement. It might make sense to separate out modsign-verify into an extra package.
... and weak-modules2 is only necessary for installations that use KMPs aka 3rd party modules. If we have images that strictly disallow KMPs, weak-modules2 isn't required either. I can imagine that we'd want to be able to create such a setup. In that case we'd need to separate out weak-modules2, too.
Waiting for decision about i-i
i-i has already been adjusted
Thanks; i-i is just in a staging together with systemd which should be ready for accept today. So I'll keep the group as-is and will stage suse-module-tools later today, based on the new i-i code. So all should be flying again
thanks all for your help and answers
Not sure what you mean here.
