What is expected from me as submitter now? Is someone going to look further into the legal details? Or not?
If I understand correctly musescore needs to change its license to GPL-3, or remove the apache licensed code for it to be included in the distribution. So I inform the developers and see what they do?
Here is my interpretation of the rejection note:
The "mscore" binary contains both the code from the mscore/
directory (GPL-2.0-only) and also contains libdiff_match_patch.a
from thirdparty/diff/
(Apache-2.0). This is incompatible according to licensedigger.
- As a packager, somehow throw out the diff_match code while still making it all build, or
- Upstream needs to change the mscore code to "GPL-2.0-or-later" (or outright GPL-3.0/GPL-3.0-or-later).
