A link to /master is probably the most useless link I could imagine. content of /master keeps on changing. Let alone that there is no information about 1.0-alpha0 available there.

So all this poses the question: is this alpha version even ready for prime-time use in a rolling distro promising certain stability?

Yeah I am aware that there he didnt update any changelog/news file. I checked the gitlog and there are some nice changes, also it seems to be very stable for me. Upstream will update the news file once he releases 1.0 so then we will have a nice changelog. Git log had a lot useless commits too so I didnt just want to copy all of it and also didnt want to select 'important' ones. At the same time I didnt want to include any entry ;)

Nevertheless, the 2nd part would have been the proper thing to do for our users. Packaging is a service provided to the users. Extracting interesting information into the changelog is part of that service
