Why adding _service? Official git repo provides tarballs as well.

The _service file is my preference as it leaves less room for error, and allows for semi-automated version updates.
If we can we always use full source urls: https://en.opensuse.org/SourceUrls
_service files are needed when there are no release tarballs.

<sigh>, I don't think _service file usage should be grounds for rejection here. I will resubmit with the tarball and drop the _service file for now.

I do not think it really makes a difference. Same tag, same commit, and - github delivers - same checksum on the tarball.
