The correct naming convention for python modules is:
python- (see http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_Python#Naming_policy )

Fromt he context, it is not entirely clear if this is actually relevant as a python module, though, or if this is not rather 'just an application that happens to be written in python'.

In the latter case, the name should follow what a user would most logically be looking for (%{name}-gui comes to mind; as that's what it is).

For applications, the implementation language does not have a lot of meaning to the user.

If both cases apply (a module, that is used outside of openipmigui) and an application, a split in two packages (python-openipmigui plus openipmigui) might be the correct way.
