I was wondering recently about this (when starting the gcc14 builds): would it make sense to use %gcc_version from prjconf here? iwe have to up it anyway when we switch the compiler, and we need to get this package changed with 'just' the version number.
Hmm, we could possibly do this, yes.
OTOH as we now have two, gcc and gcc-build (and later ALP will have 14 for gcc but gcc_version set to 13 and gcc-build 13 it's not exactly obvious which will be which ...)
ok, then let's not get into this. The package generally needs an update once a year- we should survive that workload
