The current changes make the package compatible with Python 3.11 only. The comment in the changelog
- Switch to Python 3.11 build in SLE 15 SP4 and openSUSE Leap 15.4 and later (jsc#PCT-371)is therefore a little misleading. We're not switching the build to Python 3.11 on SLE-15-SP4 and openSUSE Leap 15.4, but the whole package is becoming Python-3.11-only.
Also, I'm not sure whether the requested change will be accepted in Factory as it is definitely incompatible with later versions of Python such as Python 3.12.
