Request 1124285 accepted

The Python bindings bundled with libkdumpfile are now deprecated in favour of this package. To prevent regression, submit to Factory before disabling Python build in libkdumpfile.
Version obsolete has been solved with a new upstream release, as long as this SR is accepted together with a libkdumpfile SR.

you will need <= %{version} as the exitsing package is also version 0.5.3

rpmlint will complain, but that's acceptable

OK, then what about making a new version? I can call it 0.5.3+opensuse1, which conforms to the official Python version policy.

Also, can I somehow submit it together with the change which stops building Python bindings from libkdumpfile? The two implementations are not 100% compatible.

you can submit the two together - we can hold this one until libkdumpfile is also submitted without the python bindings.
