Missing update of the llvm meta package for the version change
Right, I forgot that. See sr#1119293.
I was wondering if we could leave the metapackage at the major version, and not update it with every patch-level update. Do you see any downsides to that? Then for example
clang
would haveRequires: clang17
instead ofRequires: clang17 = 17.0.3
.That should be possible - IIRC the same as rust is doing
This one seems responsible for
https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log/openSUSE:Factory:Staging:A/libqt5-qtwebengine/standard/i586
But what is the connection? It seems to use
g++
as compiler and GNUld
as linker, and doesn't link with LLVM libraries. Apart fromlibLLVM17
, probably as dependency of Mesa, no LLVM packages are installed into the build.It seems more likely to me that the
binutils
update (sr#1113885) has something to do with it.You are right.. I jumped to that conclusion as that failure only appeared recently in this staging, after we got the llvm fixes in... but of course, before that, we did not even get that far in building, as the entire rust tree was not working...
@anag I'd try to move llvm/llvm17 to a different staging (hopefully faster on than binutils) - even though it also addresses the zlib issue, nothing seemed to fail on this in Staging:A (the only one really caring was rust, which uses llvm16)
