https://github.com/libunwind/libunwind/releases/tag/v1.7.0 does provide a *.sig file so I think we should keep the gpg validation in place, right now you're removing that without even a comment in the spec file.
Oh, that's newly added files then! The signature file was not available in https://github.com/libunwind/libunwind/archive/refs/tags/v1.7.0.tar.gz and I just noted that the version number is not correct for the new files https://github.com/libunwind/libunwind/releases/download/v1.7.0/libunwind-1.70.tar.gz. I can rename or wait for upstream to fix that...
