@favogt - this should make inclusion of libddcutil into KDE Powerdevil much more feasible.
Regarding security: Without the rules installed, no i2c access is granted. With the rules, bus access is granted for locally logged in users, for buses related to "Display devices" (PCI class 0x3), vulgo graphics cards.
Ok, so the next missing piece is the i2c-dev module loading.
