I can't find a reason in https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man1/rsync-ssl.1.html to leave out the "--contimeout" option for rsync-ssl. Can you give a bit background information (in the patch), why this is needed ?
Adding here for completeness: contimeout needs to be handled by openssl in case of rsync-ssl. This is not well implemented in rsync-ssl - yet.
