@dimstar: How to cope with that in a flexible way? I found that /usr/share/mime/packages and parent directories are 555 now, thus the error. On my Leap 15.4 it is 755. Seems this was changed in the meantime. How to handle this in a spec file?
Leave out the directory, only include its contents:
%{_datadir}/mime/packages/*
