LLVM is a compiler infrastructure designed for compile-time,
link-time, runtime, and idle-time optimization of programs from
arbitrary programming languages.

The compiler infrastructure includes mirror sets of programming
tools as well as libraries with equivalent functionality.

New package llvm, its so called a compiler compiler, it lets you write optimizing compilers.

The package includes llvm-clang package which is the clang optimizing C/C++/Objective-C(++) compiler.

The package has a big non-trivial testsuite for both llvm and clang.

In near future Mesa package will depend on llvm for software OpenGL
