xmodconfig is a graphical front end for xmodmap. It enables you to configure
xmodmap files without using a text editor or any additional application such as
xev.
Xnee receives X11 protocol data (e g XEvents) from an X server and prints them to a file (or stdout). By recording events such as MapNotify, the replaying of events can be synchronised. This is not only useful but essential. We can not replay or regenerate keyboard-events to a window before it's ready to "receive" events. By recording events and requests synchronisation can be implemented.
XtraScreenHacks is a collection of display modes that are based on and intended
to be run with the XScreensaver distribution. Requires Xlib and OpenGL.
Included screensavers:
* Skylark, the classic 1950s kitchen table top
* Soma, the 3d cube puzzle
* Berlin-Uhr, the Berlin Quantity Didactics Clock
* Flyer
* Daisy
* Twinkle
xwit allows to call some X11 functions from the command line or a shell script.
xwit will resize, iconify, pop, and move windows given by name or id, change an icon, title or name, set the screen saver going, and change individual key autorepeat settings, move the mouse cursor, etc.
Echinus is a lightweight window manager for X based on dwm's source code. It
manages windows in tiled, maximized, and floating layouts. It is extremely
small, rather fast, and supports Xft. It features nice titlebars, multiple
desktops, theming support, a simple configuration file, the ability to switch
desktops with the mouse wheel, X bitmaps for title buttons, and true
transparency support (through xcompmgr). There is no need to recompile or
restart X to change its configuration.
euclid-wm is a minimalist tiling window manager for X11. It is designed to
allow quick and easy management of numerous windows entirely from
easy-to-learn, Vim-like key-bindings. It seeks to do two things in particular:
balance the ease of use common among automatic-layout tiling window managers
with the flexibility of manual layout window managers, and create a useful way
to handle minimized applications.
Scrotwm is a small dynamic tiling window manager for X11. It tries to stay out
of the way so that valuable screen real estate can be used for much more
important stuff. It has sane defaults and does not require one to learn a
language to do any configuration. It was written by hackers for hackers and it
strives to be small, compact and fast.
