Involved Projects and Packages
gPhoto (GNU Photo) is a set of libraries and frontends for previewing, retrieving,
and capturing images from a range of supported digital cameras to your
local harddrive.
(It does support digital cameras based on the USB storage protocol only
indirectly, those can be mounted by Linux directly.)
As of this time gPhoto supports around 700 cameras, listed on:
http://gphoto.sourceforge.net/proj/libgphoto2/support.php
Contrary to common belief gphoto2 has nothing to do with GNOME. (The gphoto 0.4 version did use gtk.)
Various libs, including the one I write.
AbiWord is a multiplatform word processor with a GTK+ interface on the
UNIX platform. For extended functionality and integration, this version
is compiled with GNOME support. Abiword with the GNOME front-end is
part of the GNOME Office Suite.
The Argyll Color Management System.
This package will be submitted to openSUSE:Factory soon. All changes for the Factory package should get tested here first.
GNU Autoconf is a tool for configuring source code and makefiles. Using
autoconf, programmers can create portable and configurable packages,
because the person building the package is allowed to specify various
configuration options.
You should install autoconf if you are developing software and would
like to create shell scripts to configure your source code packages.
Note that the autoconf package is not required for the end user who may
be configuring software with an autoconf-generated script; autoconf is
only required for the generation of the scripts, not their use.
Automake 1.7 is a tool for automatically generating "Makefile.in" files from
"Makefile.am" files. "Makefile.am" is a series of "make" macro definitions (with rules occasionally thrown in). The generated "Makefile.in" files are compatible with the GNU Makefile standards.
This is version 1.7 of Automake kept for compatibility reasons.
babl is a dynamic, any to any, pixel format translation library.
It allows converting between different methods of storing pixels known
as pixel formats that have with different bitdepths and other data
representations, color models and component permutations.
A vocabulary to formulate new pixel formats from existing primitives is
provided as well as the framework to add new color models and data
types.
Camorama is a program to use webcam and other v4l devices
Elektra provides a universal and secure framework to store configuration
parameters in a hierarchical key-value pair mechanism, instead of each
program using its own text configuration files. This allows any program
to read and save its configuration with a consistent API, and allows
them to be aware of other applications' configurations, permitting
easy application integration. While architecturally similar to other OS
registries, Elektra does not have most of the problems found in those
implementations.
A library to deal with XMP metadata. The library is based on Adobe's XMP Toolkit.
Camera image file probe.
This package is based on the package 'fftw3' from project 'openSUSE:Factory'.
FFTW is a C subroutine library for computing the Discrete Fourier
Transform (DFT) in one or more dimensions, of both real and complex
data, and of arbitrary input size.
GEGL provides infratructure to do demand based cached non destructive
image editing on larger than RAM buffers. Through babl it provides
support for a wide range of color models and pixel storage formats for
input and output.
GMetaDOM is a collection of librares, each library providing a DOM
implementation. Currently available bindings are for C++ (smart
pointers) and Objective Caml.
Gnome Scan is a scanner framework for GNOME.
Gnote
This package is based on the package 'goocanvas' from project 'openSUSE:Factory'.
GooCanvas is similar in many ways to GnomeCanvas and FooCanvas. But it
uses cairo for rendering, has an optional model/view split, and uses
interfaces for items & models (so you can easily turn any application
object into a canvas item or model).
GooCanvasmm, C++ binding for GooCanvas
GtkImageView is a widget that provides a zoomable and panable view of a
GdkPixbuf. It is intended to be usable in most types of image viewing
applications.
A renderer for MathML documents.
High level utility functions, classes and widgets written on top of gtkmm and glibmm.
* logging framework
* option parsing, date and string utilities
* tile widgets (see a Paperbox screenshot)
* dialog helpers
Gtkmm provides a C++ interface to the GTK+ GUI library. gtkmm2 wraps
GTK+ 2. Highlights include typesafe callbacks, widgets extensible via
inheritance, and a comprehensive set of widget classes that can be
freely combined to quickly create complex user interfaces.
A C++ wrapper for the gtksourceview widget library
libgtksourceviewmm is a C++ wrapper for the gtksourceview widget
library. It offers all the power of gtksourceview with an interface
familiar to c++ developers, including users of the gtkmm library
