It is hoped that by using mcs, that the applications which use it will generally have a more congruent feeling in regards to settings. There have been other projects like this before (such as GConf), but unlike those projects, mcs strictly handles abstraction. It does not impose any specific data storage requirement, nor is it tied to any desktop environment or software suite. Because mcs is licenced under the BSD license, it is hoped that many applications will adopt it's use. %package -n mcs-kde Summary: Files needed to use mcs with kconf Group: System/Libraries %description -n mcs-kde This package contains the files needed to use mcs with kconf. %package devel Summary: Header files, libraries and development documentation for libmcs Group: Development/Libraries/C and C++ Requires: %{libsoname} = %{version} Requires: gconf2-devel Requires: kdelibs3-devel Requires: libmowgli-devel %description devel This package contains the files needed to compile programs that use the libmcs library. %prep %setup -q %build export LDFLAGS="%{optflags} -L/opt/kde3/%{_lib}" export CPPFLAGS="%{optflags} -I/opt/kde3/include -I/usr/lib/qt3/include" %configure %{__make} %{?_smp_mflags} %install %makeinstall %post -n %{libsoname} -p /sbin/ldconfig %postun -n %{libsoname} -p /sbin/ldconfig %files -n %{libsoname} %defattr(-,root,root) %{_libdir}/%{name}.so.* %files -n mcs %defattr(-,root,root) %doc AUTHORS COPYING README TODO %{_bindir}/mcs-getconfval %{_bindir}/mcs-info %{_bindir}/mcs-query-backends %{_bindir}/mcs-setconfval %{_bindir}/mcs-walk-config %dir %{_libdir}/mcs %{_libdir}/mcs/gconf.so %{_libdir}/mcs/keyfile.so %files -n mcs-kde %defattr(-,root,root) %{_libdir}/mcs/kconfig.so %files devel %defattr(-,root,root) %dir %{_includedir}/%{name} %{_includedir}/%{name}/mcs.h %{_libdir}/%{name}.so %{_libdir}/pkgconfig/%{name}.pc %changelog
