------------------------------------------------------------------- Tue Apr 23 12:43:48 UTC 2024 - Matej Cepl <mcepl@cepl.eu> - Upgrade to 0.21.0: Changelogs are available at https://www.oilshell.org/blog/tags.html?tag=oil-release#oil-release ------------------------------------------------------------------- Wed Oct 4 13:59:43 UTC 2023 - Luciano Santos <luc14n0@opensuse.org> - Update to version 0.18.0: * We're moving toward retiring the Python tarball: OSH differs by 2 test cases in C++, and YSH differs by 77, down from 157 in the last release. * We're deep in the middle of implementing YSH: particularly functions, procs, and data languages. We're constantly testing and revising the language design. * This release "checkpoints" that work, as well as reflecting progress on every other part of the project. * Another highlight is the new Oils Reference, organized into two tables of contents, and 13 chapters. As YSH stabilizes, we'll document its behavior here. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Wed Oct 4 13:50:03 UTC 2023 - Luciano Santos <luc14n0@opensuse.org> - Update from version 0.17.0: * The previous release was Breaking Renames and YSH, and it prepared the codebase to implement YSH. So this release is a checkpoint along the way. * Evaluate the YSH case statement on typed data, as shown in Sketches of YSH Features. * Evaluate "method" calls like mystr->strip(). * Parse and evaluate simple pure functions, e.g. the func keyword and return (expr). This is still in progress. * Translate the YSH expression evaluator to C++, which makes it more real. This led to bug fixes, and to tightening up language semantics. 357 of 514 tests pass in C++, compared to 185 of 479 in the previous release. * Reduce the number of GC objects allocated by the interpreter, which made it faster (CPU usage) and smaller (memory usage). ------------------------------------------------------------------- Sun Jun 11 07:52:01 UTC 2023 - Luciano Santos <luc14n0@opensuse.org> - Upstream version 0.16.0: Initial openSUSE package.
