File 1025-timer-Don-t-silently-ignore-errors-when-spawning-pro.patch of Package erlang
From 10c49bc70b7b8319b0de9d5bec8f56bed8449b2b Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: =?UTF-8?q?Bj=C3=B6rn=20Gustavsson?= <bjorn@erlang.org> Date: Mon, 11 Sep 2023 13:17:26 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] timer: Don't silently ignore errors when spawning processes When a timer created by `timer` had expired and it was time to spawn a process to apply a user function, a `system_limit` exception (indicating that the limit for the number of processes in the system had been reached) would be silently ignored. Since there is not really anything that can be done in this situation, be sure to terminate the system so that the problem is noticed. Note that that other parts of OTP don't attempt to cope with the failure to spawn processes because of a `system_limit` exception.
