For future adventurers, who dare updating it to version 3.4.1 (from 3.4.0): It's not a minor update. It has breaking API changes and new features. Make sure games, that uses it (like openmw or stuntrally), not only builds but also runs with it.
But it is required as the 3.4.0 is outdated and does not build anymore. So games using it have to be patched.
I'm not saying "don't do it". I'm saying "be careful". If games are patched, it's OK. For example OpenMW 0.47.0 already uses it.
